“I need you, you need me. We’re all a part of God’s body.
Stand with me, agree with me. We’re all a part of God’s body.
It is his will, that every need be supplied.
You are important to me, I need you to survive.”
It is the modern day version of “you’re my brother, you’re my sister”. The message is the same……. we need each other. We are the body of Christ. While we all have different parts to play in the body, all parts are needed to make the body whole and complete. So in a sense, what happens to you, happens to me. If you have a problem, I indirectly have one too.
The second part of the song says “I pray for you, You pray for me. I love you, I need you to survive.” I wonder how different things would be if we prayed for one another on a daily basis? You see no matter how talented and dedicated, there isn’t one person that has every gift needed. It takes us all working together. If we truly “love our neighbor as ourself” then shouldn’t as much of our time spent in prayer be praying for the success and blessings of others as for ourselves?
So if we are the body, I guess it would stand to reason that along with if you have a problem, I have one too…….that if you succeed, so do I.
Find someone this week and partner with them in prayer. Pray for their success and pray blessings into their life. By doing this you may very well pray them into your own life as well.
